A Brief Statement

Pledging a fraternity is a major step in a young mans life.  Here at Alpha Tau Omega (ATO ), once an individual shows interest in our organization by the means of informative new member events we waste no time in supporting him just as we would support each other as inducted members.  More importantly, we urge all potential new members to not only consult with their parents, but also share the interest they have gained in becoming part of our organization.

We the brothers of ATO realize that many parents lose touch with their children when they leave for college, even if they aren't that far away.  Realizing this, we stress that family values go hand-in-hand with fraternal values, as this will help a young man grow as a whole while not losing touch with the loved ones that got him to this point.  Also, this prevents any misunderstandings as well as friction between a new member and his family due to unnecessary deception and/or hiding of one's interest in our organization.

After a new member is initiated , we as an organization make sure to continue to not only promote, but also support parental involvement.  Some examples of how we do this include periodic events which are designed to include the parents of any member that are willing to participate, as well as a semi-annual newsletter that we generate and have delivered via any appropriate means to the parents of our members.  This way regardless of whether or not a brother's parents are unable to attend the functions we hold, they are not removed from being educated and informed of our present standing and future potential as a whole.

Ultimately we hope that all of our members' parents will get involved in one time or another.  For those with a rigorous schedule, feel free to contact us to schedule an informal meeting with some of our members.  Also, please take notice to the various links located on this page as they provide a variety of informative resources.  From all the brothers of ATO , Thank You!!

Sincerely,
The Brothers of ATO
