::Scholarship::
The Iota Omega Chapter at Bloomsburg University feels that scholarship should be every member's number one priority. To create an atmosphere conducive to learning, we have formed a scholarship committee. The scholarship committee was established with three major objectives. These objectives are:
1) to create a scholarship program
2) to administrate and enforce the scholarship program
3) to constantly review and improve the scholarship program.
Standards and policies:
The Scholarship Committee has lain out a list of guidelines at are to be meet or followed to ensure the fraternal scholarship obligations.
-
A new member must have a grade point average of 2.3 or higher and meet all school requirements to join.
-
A member whose grade point average slips below a 2.2 will be on social probation until scholarship committee rules otherwise.
-
Multiple weekly study sessions are to be run by scholarship committee in the library. Attendance varies on status with the fraternity.
-
A listing of University teachers is to be kept by the scholarship committee.
-
Grades are checked during the midway point of each semester.
-
A rewards program for the member with the highest grade point average.
-
Maintain an academic calendar with import events (mid terms, finals)
These Standards and Policies , along with our strong view on the importance of Scholarship within the fraternity have proven very useful as an additional means of educational guidance and reform.
